Housing Assistance for a Single Mother of 3

Jasmine, a 37-year-old single mother of three, recently graduated from a medical program at Wake Tech and has a good job at a primary care facility. Despite her accomplishments, she has faced housing instability. She and her children — 7-year-old twins and a 5-year-old — were living in a trailer that became uninhabitable due to severe plumbing issues. The family was forced to bathe and wash dishes in the bathroom sink. The presence of mold and mildew endangered their health.

After fleeing this nightmare, Jasmine and her children lived in her car until she was able to secure new housing. She paid the first month’s rent for her new apartment but needed assistance with the $1,825 security deposit, which the Cooper Foundation was grateful to provide. This one-time assistance will allow her to transition her family from homelessness to a safe, stable home where her children can thrive.

Our partner organization, Oak City Cares, is helping with budgeting support. Stable employment is giving her the means to sustain her housing moving forward. Working together, we can all make a difference. We all just changed the lives of a family of four forever. Please consider making a donation so we can continue this important work.
