Our mission is to improve people’s lives by helping them secure stable housing.

Our Purpose
Housing Stability Grants
The Cooper Charitable Foundation officially announced its formation on April 2, 2024, offering a Housing Stability Grant program to help people secure housing or stay in their homes. Working with other non-profit organizations, we identify those in need and ways we can assist.
During our first year, we have learned that many people who are unsheltered work. They can afford and maintain a monthly rent. What they can’t afford are the move-in fees associated with housing access – a security deposit, first and last month’s rent, and utility deposits. This is the biggest barrier to housing. About 90 percent of our grants have been for this purpose. The remaining grants were awarded to keep people in housing – from paying for car repairs to covering rent payments for people who experienced illness, a job loss or other life trauma.
Our vision is to ensure that everyone has a chance for a better life. Safe and stable housing is key.
Working together, we can help those in need access stable housing. Your generosity makes a difference.
Our Partners
“The Wake Tech Foundation has worked extremely hard over the past 30 years to build a strong base of need and academic-based scholarships to assist our students with their pursuit of higher education. But more and more students need help with ‘life needs’, primarily housing. Our mission is to remove the barriers to academic success and housing insecurity is at the top of that list. We are grateful to work with — for the first time — a foundation that is solely focused on helping our students stabilize their living situations. The Cooper Charitable Foundation is critical to our college and helping our students realize their dreams!”
