Jessica’s Story

Through our partnership with @Oak City Cares, we were able to help a working mother secure stable housing at a critical moment. Despite working hard, she was unable to save enough for a security deposit and first and last month’s rent, putting her at risk of being separated from her children. Through a housing stability grant, we were able to step in and help bridge that gap.

Here’s what Jessica shared about the impact this support had on her life:

“The financial help I received from the Cooper Charitable Foundation through Oak City Cares has helped me so much. I am no longer stressed or scared about someone taking my kids away. I can now focus on taking care of my family in a stable, safe environment. I am finally at peace and cannot say thank you enough. My family and I truly appreciate everything.”
