Meet Kathy Colbenson, Associate Executive Director

Longtime local nonprofit leader Kathy Colbenson is spearheading the Cooper Charitable Foundation’s expansion to Atlanta! As the Foundation’s Associate Executive Director, she brings 40+ years of nonprofit leadership experience to the role. She retired as CEO at CHRIS 180 in 2024 and is passionate about bringing our mission to the region.

Since launching our grants program in Raleigh in June 2024, the foundation has helped 279 people, including 135 children, secure stable housing. Now, with Kathy at the helm in Atlanta, our goal is to duplicate those efforts here.

We’re honored to welcome Kathy to our team and excited to work alongside Atlanta’s strong network of nonprofit leaders to help more families access and remain in safe, stable housing.
