Partnering with The Women's Center to Help Single Women Like Josie
The Women’s Center of Wake County does incredible work serving single women who are unsheltered. Last week, they shared with us Josie’s journey and asked the Cooper Charitable Foundation for assistance getting her into stable housing.
This 42-year-old woman bravely left an unhealthy relationship and came to North Carolina, seeking work and solace. With the help of The Women’s Center, she successfully applied for food stamps and Medicaid, found a job and secured safe housing at an apartment complex she can afford. However, she needs help with her move-in fees and her car is in need of major repairs.
In partnership with The Women’s Center, we approved a grant that will cover the car repairs, as well as her pro-rated first month’s rent and her security deposit. The Cooper Charitable Foundation is grateful to be able to position Josie for success and stability as she starts a new life in her new home town.
Please consider a donation to the Foundation, so we can prevent people from losing their homes. Together, we can all make a difference.
