Board Member

Stefanie Empie

Growing up in a single parent, low-income household for most of her life, Stefanie learned early on how the generosity and kindness of others can impact a life. From grants that allowed her to experience extracurricular activities, to a friend’s parents who welcomed her along to life shaping events not normally accessible to her, to even the small gesture of a free week of transportation to her first job, Stefanie attributes much of her personal and professional success to the compassion of others. “The kindness of others changed the trajectory of my life by giving me an opportunity to see beyond my circumstances. It motivated me to work hard, always have a great appreciation for those who help others and to do what I can to pay it forward”. She is honored and eager to serve on the board of the Cooper Charitable Foundation where she hopes to continue to do just that. Stefanie lives in Virginia Beach with her family where they love to spend time seeking out new adventures together. Professionally, Stefanie has worked over 16 years at a national company in various roles, most recently as an Organizational Development Manager.
