A Broken Arm Shouldn't Cost a Home
A 28-year-old mother was assaulted at her apartment complex, resulting in a broken arm that required surgery. Due to her injuries, she was unable to work, causing her to fall behind on her rent. And while her arm was aching, think about the trauma she experienced at the hands of an unknown assailant. Adding to the pain was the threat of being evicted if she didn’t pay her back rent.
That’s where the Cooper Charitable Foundation stepped in. Working with our partner, Family Promise of the Triangle, we were able to provide a grant to cover her back rent, preventing her and her five-year-old child from becoming homeless and helping them on the path to stability. The landlord ended all eviction proceedings immediately, putting this painful chapter behind her.
Please consider a donation to the Foundation, so we can prevent people from losing their homes. Together, we can all make a difference.
